America’s favorite freewheelin’ mumbling troubadour won the Nobel Prize for Literature today, a fact that inspired a lot of rumination across the media (and here on Vulture, naturally). Meanwhile, in comedy, Tim Heidecker of Tim & Eric fame was busy making beautiful music about it. Heidecker released a track on SoundCloud called “Talkin’ Nobel Prize,” in which he impersonates Mr. Zimmerman just before, during, and after learning he had won the prize. Like many of us, Heidecker’s Dylan — which sounds like the name of a complex math formula — is unsure about this whole thing. He never wanted it; he’s just a regular guy. “Look into my eyes, babe, and see how I despise the prize,” he sings. “Ain’t nothing Nobel about me, anyway.” Here’s hoping the elusive singer-songwriter might hear this loving impersonation at some point, or perhaps the 15-minute parody track Heidecker released before.
