Pete Burns, Dead or Alive Singer, Dead at 57

Pete Burns, the lead singer of the British pop band Dead or Alive, died on Sunday at the age of 57, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A statement released on his verified Twitter account revealed he died of a “massive cardiac arrest.” One of Dead or Alive’s greatest hits, “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record),” hit No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985, and then came back with Flo Rida’s  No. 1 Hot 100 hit “Right Round” in 2011, featuring Kesha. The band’s most popular album, 1985’s Youthquake, featured hits such as “Lover Come Back (to Me)” and “In Too Deep.” After the band released a few more albums (1987’s Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know and 1989’s Nude), Burns appeared in the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother (where he finished fifth) in 2006.
