Kevin Meaney, a stand-up comic and beloved actor, has died at 60, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His agent released a statement saying Meaney was found unresponsive in his home in Forestburgh, New York, on Friday. A celebrated comedic actor (Ned & Stacey, Dr. Katz, and Rocko’s Modern Life, among others) and a stand-up for over two decades, Meaney had a reputation for extreme niceness in an industry for which that is not always the case. Meaney was also known as a “comic’s comic,” a fact which spurred several comedy-world luminaries to pay tribute on Twitter throughout Friday night. He is survived by a daughter.
