There's been a lot of drama in the televised baking world over in the U.K.: The beloved Great British Bake Off moved from its home at the BBC to Channel 4, its much wealthier competitor, setting off a Brexit-like referendum among its cast. Co-hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins and judge Mary Berry voted to remain with the BBC, whereas judge Paul Hollywood decided to leave. The BBC suggested that it was already cooking up new programs starring Berry, and now they've got something to announce: Mary Berry's Secrets from Britain's Great Houses, a six-episode series that will take Mary Berry through "stately homes" in the United Kingdom through the lens of food. (It's a working title.) According to a statement from the BBC, "Her exclusive invitation to these great houses will take her away from the well-trodden tourist paths. Revealing life both upstairs and downstairs, Mary will meet the present day custodians and their knowledgeable, dedicated staff as she visits the gardens, kitchens and private rooms." It certainly sounds like an upgrade from a tent!
