Lin-Manuel Miranda Will Rap About Mundane Everyday Events If You Ask Him Nicely on Ellen

A visual that you may or may not find useful this morning is that of Lin-Manuel Miranda cutting glass with one icy nipple. Hey, that's just the chance you take every time you demand that the Hamilton creator freestyle raps on the fly. The court of Miranda's latest oratorical improvisation was Ellen, where instead of, say, rapping to incorporate a set of words, his task was to spit fire that narrated a series of situations Ellen DeGeneres set up: a rude social interaction, a cold shower, a mandatory phone update, the absorbing rhythmic power of a dancing lass named Nancy. Like a gimmicky Bruce Springsteen and Courteney Cox, theirs is a shared fire that would burn the sun.
