Months after legendary television creator and movie director Garry Marshall died at 81 years old, The Odd Couple will honor TV’s Mr. Nice Guy with an episode packed with all-stars. Back in the ‘70s, Marshall brought The Odd Couple to the small screen — the CBS reboot recognized Marshall’s connection, hiring him as a producer and giving him a guest part on an episode last spring. On the show he played Walter, the estranged father of Oscar (Matthew Perry). According to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming special episode will center around Oscar mourning Walter’s death, with many of his father’s friends, played by some of the actors who worked with Marshall when he became a sitcom hit-maker. The guest stars include Ron Howard, Marion Ross, Anson Williams, and Don Most of Happy Days; Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams of Laverne & Shirley; and Pam Dawber of Mork & Mindy. The episode will air on November 7.
