50 Cent Threatens to Quit Power Because It Was Snubbed by the Golden Globes (But Probably Won’t)

Despite what the laws of physics suggest, 50 Cent doesn’t think Power is worth his work over time. Starz’s highest-rated drama didn’t score a single Golden Globe nomination yesterday, which didn’t make much sense to 50, as he explained on Instagram. “Golden globe’s can suck a dick,” he wrote under a photo, before adding that, because of slights like the one he just received from the HFPA, he’d rather not stay on the show. “I accept my series POWER was not intended to be a signature show for the network but it is the highest rated show. I know my audience very well, I’m done promoting this out side of contractual obligations. SEASON 4 KANAN MUST DIE, I got other shit to do.” (Kanan is 50 Cent’s character on Power, who was seen nearly buck naked in a recent episode, prompting a similar rant from the rapper turned actor.) It’s not likely 50 Cent would actually exit Power, despite the fact that he doubled down on his claims in another post. The series, as 50 himself pointed out, is a ratings hit. It’s been renewed for seasons four and five, and an insider told Variety that there is “no internal concern” about 50 Cent leaving the show. The rapper is also tied into an overall deal with the network that lasts until September 2018, and you can be sure that Starz has lawyers making sure they get their half-dollar’s worth.
