The Best Golden Globes Nomination Reactions So Far

Since the Golden Globes nominations officially dropped this morning, the internet has been alight with reactions from those involved in the films and shows on the list, including of course, the nominees themselves. Of these, many are of the standard and classy “I would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press, etc.” variety (nothing wrong with that), but some are a little more colorful, cute, and endearing. Take, for example, Dan Fogelman, creator of NBC’s surprise hit series This Is Us, on the nods his show received for best drama series and for supporting actress (both Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz):

“What a morning. The last time my phone started ringing like that at 5:30 AM I think my grandfather had died. This continues to be the wildest, craziest, and most rewarding ride for all of us. I’m very grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press for recognizing our show, as well as Mandy and Chrissy — two insanely talented women who are as easy to root for as they are to write for.  I’m incredibly proud of every single member of this cast and crew — they don’t all get to put on tuxes and drink champagne and make out with movie stars (that’s what happens next, right?) but they kill themselves to make our show special and I know our set is going to be buzzing this morning.”

Then there’s The People v. O.J. Simpson star Sarah Paulson, nominated for best actress in a limited series, who disabused everyone of the notion she’s too cool for such things: “It’s very exciting, you never know how these things are going to go,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m not one of those people who doesn’t care; it’s pretty cool.” Pretty cool indeed. Check out more of the best nominee reactions so far, starting with Insecure co-stars Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji sharing a little celebratory FaceTime:
