The OA Trailer: Netflix’s New Show Looks Exceedingly Eerie

By

Have you seen death? Well, Netflix’s new show The OA is teasing a glimpse. In the preview for the series, Brit Marling plays Prairie Johnson, a woman in her 20s who has returned home after being missing for seven years. The circumstances of her disappearance are a mystery, but she’s returned seemingly unscathed: despite growing up blind, she’s also regained her sight.

The OA was created by Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the duo behind the spectacularly weird The East. The pair wrote the eight-episode series, which counts Plan B Entertainment (Moonlight, Hulu’s Deadbeat) and Anonymous Content (True Detective) as executive producers. Figure out where Prairie Johnson disappeared to when The OA is available to stream on Friday, December 16.
