The Weeknd’s new album Starboy hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Pitchfork reports. This is Abel Tesfaye’s second chart-topping album, which sold 348,000 in equivalent album units, making it the third-largest debut of the year behind Drake’s VIEWS and Beyoncé’s Lemonade. Recently, Starboy even broke Spotify’s record for most streams in a single day — Justin Bieber used to be the reigning champ. The Weeknd also released a new short film, Mania, and announced his Starboy: Legend of the Fall 2017 World Tour, which begins in February of next year in Europe, with dates in North America. The Weeknd’s last album, 2015’s Beauty Behind the Madness, also topped the chart following its release. Not a bad track record. You can watch “Starboy” below.
