Late Show host Stephen Colbert just landed another major hosting gig. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colbert has signed on to host the 2017 Emmys, which will air on CBS Sunday, September 17th. It will mark the first live awards show hosting gig for Colbert (aside from the Kennedy Center Honors), who was clearly inspired by new White House press secretary Sean Spicer when he responded to the news with this: “This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period. Both in person and around the globe.” Emmys hosts in recent years include Neil Patrick Harris, Seth Meyers, Andy Samberg, and Jimmy Kimmel last year.
