30 Rock’s Maulik Pancholy Quits Presidential Advisory Commission Over Donald Trump’s Policies

Maulik Pancholy is one of ten members of the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to resign out of opposition to Donald Trump and his policies. The actor, best known as Jack Donaghey’s quirky assistant, Jonathan, on 30 Rock, certainly knows his way around a bad boss, but ultimately found working with the current POTUS untenable. The resigning members explained their decision to quit in a joint letter: “We can no longer serve a President whose policies aim to create outcomes that are diametrically opposed to our principles, goals, and charge … Since your Inauguration, the Executive Orders you have issued and policies you have promulgated have greatly impeded the ability of the federal government to serve all who live here.” Pancholy was placed on the commission by Barack Obama and his appointment was to go through September.
