A Del Close biopic that’s been in development for several years is moving forward with SNL alum Mike Myers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Myers has signed on to star in a biopic of the legendary Chicago improv coach written by Nick Torokvei called Del, and Betty Thomas (Private Parts) is attached to direct. The project was initially announced back in 2013 when there were two competing Del Close biopics in development: Thomas and Torokvei’s take (called Guru at the time) and ImprovOlympic co-founder Charna Halpern’s take potentially starring Myers, who is a Second City alum and one of Close’s former students.
