Dearly beloved, we gather today to mourn the loss of something taken from us all too soon, which brought great joy and mystery into our lives. We are talking, of course, of our dear friend, and ever-changing companion, the hair on Milo Ventimiglia’s face in This Is Us. In a short Twitter video, This Is Us executive producer Ken Olin teased a clean-shaven Jack Pearson, coming in a future episode. Cue up the Sarah McLachlan and take a gander:

Indeed, it seems that Milo’s emotional facial-hair journey has arrived at a new chapter. Maybe this means that we will flash back to a teen Jack on the show, or move closer to his death. Maybe this is for a dream sequence. Maybe Milo Ventimiglia’s beard was a collective hallucination we all shared, a not-so-wispy wisp of fancy that was too good to be true.

Update: Milo has shared a peek at his new look, and hinted that we may be seeing a very early version of Jack (possibly pre-Rebecca?).

A Eulogy for Milo Ventimiglia’s This Is Us Facial Hair
