Seth Rogen to Creep on Charlize Theron in Totally Plausible New Film

And now for some news from the “Yeah, duh,” department: People are really into Charlize Theron. In particular, men are really into her. They’re into her enough, in fact, that an entire comedic screenplay could be crafted operating on the principle that a sad, kinda zhlubby gent — say, a Seth Rogen type — might spend a good deal of his time pursuing her, given the chance. Enter Flarsky, a comedy in development with Rogen and Theron attached. Per Variety:

Rogen will play an unemployed journalist, battered by his own misfortune and self-destructive ways, who endeavors to pursue Theron’s character — who was his childhood crush and babysitter and now happens to be one of the most powerful and unattainable women on earth.

As far as plausible comedic character premises go, “unemployed journalist” and “man obsessed with Charlize Theron” are pretty high up there, and we’re going to assume any creepiness inherent to such a premise will be tempered by Rogen’s harmless stoner appeal and effusive Canadianness. After all, you’d be pretty dumb to creep too hard around Furiosa herself.
