Rock Out to Chuck Berry’s New Single ‘Big Boys’ From His First Album in Nearly 40 Years

Before Chuck Berry died, at 90, this Saturday, he had announced the release of Chuck, his first studio album in nearly 40 years. Today, his estate debuted the first single from that album, “Big Boys,” online. It features Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and Nathaniel Rateliff, and sounds a lot like “Johnny B. Goode,” but hey, if you pretty much invented rock and roll, stick with what works. The rest of Chuck, which contains material recorded between 1991 and 2014 and embraces Berry’s signature sound, is set to arrive June 16. Other songs on it include “Lady B. Goode,” a sequel to “Johnny B. Goode,” and “Jamaica Moon,” a rewrite of “Havana Moon.”
