Rod Stewart’s Game of Thrones Make-Believe Sure Looks Like an ISIS Video

Today in headlines you don’t read every day, Rod Stewart has attempted to clear up confusion over a video posted to his wife’s Instagram appearing to show the singer reenacting a beheading. The since-deleted clip shows Stewart in the Abu Dhabi desert pretending to slit his friend’s throat, a troubling image which some say evokes an ISIS-style execution. In a statement, Stewart now says that he and his crew were simply horsing around before a stop on his tour and were actually acting out the Red Wedding scene from Game of Thrones. “From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show. Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended,” Stewart said. We recommend sticking to Khaleesi cosplay next time.
