Sarah Paulson Doesn’t Care About Your Casting Bets, Wants to Play Trump in American Horror Story’s Election Season

When news broke that Ryan Murphy was planning to make a 2016-election-themed season of American Horror Story, frequent AHS cast member Sarah Paulson seemed like a shoo-in for the Hillary Clinton part. After all, Paulson won an Emmy for her portrayal of another intelligent, career-driven public figure who had rough relations with the media as Marcia Clark in The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story. Also, with the right wig and pantsuit, she could easily pass as the former secretary of State. Paulson, however, sees her ideal casting differently. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress said she would like to play the 45th president. “Why not? That’s an acting challenge to be sure,” Paulson said. It would take some prosthetics, we assume, but Paulson has never shied away from a crazy role. Murphy has previously hinted that if Trump and Clinton actually do appear in the season, they’d play a small part in a big, spooky allegory. And, as Paulson also said, “Whatever the angle [Murphy’s] going to take, it will be unique.” So, does this mean Murphy-regular John Stamos can play Clinton?
