Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Night, where Seth Meyers takes “A Closer Look” at the recent news that Attorney General Jeff Sessions met with the Russian ambassador during the campaign despite claiming under oath during his confirmation hearing that he didn’t. “‘I met with him but I don’t know what you’re talking about, we discussion the election but we didn’t, it was normal for me to meet with him but everything you’re saying is false’ – I guess we shouldn’t be surprised, since leprechauns always talk in riddles,” Meyers says. And now that Sessions has recused himself from investigations involving Trump’s ties to Russia, there are now more questions about Trump and Putin’s connection than ever before. “We’re not even six weeks into the Trump presidency and people in his own party are already talking about a special prosecutor,” Meyers says. “It’s like you’re on a third date with someone and you’re already introducing them to your divorce lawyer.”
