Here’s a clip from last night’s Full Frontal, where Samantha Bee sits down for a brief chat with Al Franken to promote his new book Giant of the Senate, in which Franken devotes an entire chapter to his hatred for fellow Senator Ted Cruz. Since Bee is no stranger to writing extremely creative Ted Cruz insults, she and Franken spend a brief but magical moment together trading insults about the man Franken calls “the Dwight Schrute of the Senate” and a “world-class butthole” but definitely not “a used condom in a Gideon Bible,” which Franken thinks is a joke that crosses the line. “This is a human being we’re talking about,” he tells Bee. “No, it’s not. It’s Ted Cruz.”
