T.J. Miller Reads a Not-So-Great Review of His HBO Special ‘Meticulously Ridiculous’ on ‘The Late Show’

Here’s a clip from last night’s Late Show, where Stephen Colbert chats with T.J. Miller about The Emoji Movie as well as his recent move to New York to focus more on his standup act. “I’ve done ten sets in one night in New York City, and my work ethic is such because I’m a public servant since tragedy permeates our everyday life and comedy’s the opiate that I offer as a drug dealer to you,” Miller says. He also reads an excerpt from a review for his new HBO standup special Meticulously Ridiculous, in which the Sioux City writer pans the special and takes Miller’s more absurdist jokes way more literally than he should. “I think it’s possible that some people may not get the special, and one of those people betrayed his own name,” Miller says. “Bruce, if you’re out there listening, you fool! It would be physically impossible to ever, in any way shape or form, spend $73,000 playing carnival games.”
