Jon Stewart Has Two Comedy Specials in the Works at HBO

HBO just added two comedy specials from Jon Stewart. The network announced today that Stewart is set to return to HBO for his first standup special in 21 years – his last special, Jon Stewart: Unleavened, aired in 1996. “I’m really thrilled to be able to return to stand-up on HBO,” Stewart said on the news. “They’ve always set the standard for great stand-up specials. Plus, I can finally use up the last of the Saddam Hussein jokes left over from my first special.” A premiere date has not yet been revealed.

In addition to the standup special, HBO will air the annual Night of Too Many Stars autism benefit this year live from The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, November 18th with Stewart attached to host. Night of Too Many Stars in previous years aired on Stewart’s former TV home over at Comedy Central.
