Jay Pharoah’s in-the-works Showtime series produced by Jamie Foxx is rounding out its cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Detour’s Natalie Zea has joined the cast of White Famous, which was ordered to series back in January. Pharoah stars in the show as Floyd, “an up-and-coming comedian who is trying to maintain his credibility with African-American fans while crossing over to become ‘white famous.’” Zea has signed on to play Amy, “a high-profile Hollywood agent who used to be the boss of Floyd’s current agent, Malcolm. She is an expert at guiding careers and Floyd can’t help feeling drawn to her.” Utkarsh Ambudkar will play Malcolm, and Kendrick Sampson will play Robbie MacDonald, “a very handsome and talented British actor auditioning with Floyd for a project. He also plays guitar in a band.” Showtime has not yet revealed a premiere date for the series.
