Fox is airing a live musical in December inspired by the classic holiday film A Christmas Story and its Broadway counterpart A Christmas Story: The Musical, and the role of Ralphie Parker’s mom has gone to the perfect performer. According to Variety, Maya Rudolph has signed on to star as the mom in the musical, which will air on Fox Sunday, December 17th at 7:00pm. Fox has not yet revealed the rest of the cast, but it will reportedly be announced soon.
In the meantime, this seems like the perfect time to revisit Rudolph’s holiday performance as the very tipsy Lola Fabre on SNL when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted back in 2015:
