Steve Coogan’s Alan Partidge is returning to the BBC with two new television projects. Deadline reports that BBC Two will air a one-hour Alan Partridge special later this year to celebrate the character’s 25th anniversary since his 1992 BBC Radio debut. In addition to the special, Coogan will star in a new series as Partridge, which will premiere on BBC One sometime next year. Coogan most recently played Partridge in the Sky Atlantic (and later Seeso series) Alan Partridge’s Scissored Isle, but the upcoming series will mark his first full BBC series since I’m Alan Partridge, which ended its run in 2002.
