During a speech to Long Island police officers over the weekend, Donald Trump made a statement that encouraged police brutality when he told officers “Please don’t be too nice.” As if that weren’t awful enough, the White House attempted to defend the comment yesterday when Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that Trump “was making a joke.” During last night’s Daily Show, Trevor Noah responded to the White House’s “joke” excuse: “Yeah, come on guys! Don’t you understand? If you don’t like what Trump says, it’s a joke. If you do like it, then it’s policy. That’s how it works!”
