Moonlight director Barry Jenkins is building toward another big year. Since taking home the Oscar for Best Picture last season, Jenkins is directing an adaptation of James Baldwin’s novel If Beale Street Could Talk, and is developing a series version of Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad. Now you can add a collaboration with your other fave, Chadwick Boseman, onto the pile. According to Deadline, Jenkins will direct the period thriller Expatriate, about an airplane hijacking in the 1970s, from a script by Boseman and his writing partner, Logan Coles. Vulture is also waiting for Jenkins to fulfill his (our?) dream of a collaboration between him and Isabelle Huppert. Expatriate is being billed as an “international thriller,” so why not pick up an international sensation like Huppert? This part is writing itself.
