Smashing Pumpkins Announce Tour and Reunion Lineup

It’s finally official, the Smashing Pumpkins are going on a reunion tour … sans former bassist D’arcy Wretzky. The band announced the Shiny and Oh So Bright tour on their website and social media today, confirming their touring lineup as Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and Jeff Schroeder (who joined a version of the band in 2007). The tour is set to kick off in Arizona this July, and will feature songs from the Smashing Pumpkins’ first five albums: Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Machina/The Machines of God. It’s still unclear which band member will play bass in Wretzky’s place — Corgan, Iha, and Schroeder have all historically played guitar, and Chamberlin is the band’s drummer — but we’ll likely learn more information in the coming weeks.
