On Monday, Twitter eagerly lit up after Digital Spy reported that Olivia Munn claimed that The Newsroom cast had conversations with Aaron Sorkin about reviving the HBO series. As Will McAvoy could tell you, that’s not the most reliable sourcing, but that didn’t stop anyone from dunking on the not-quite well-received series and on Sorkin’s tics in general (imagine how he would lecture everyone about Trump with the power of hindsight!). As you might have guessed, those rumors turned out to be less than real. “I have no plans to return to anything that I’ve done,” Sorkin told James Corden last night, adding that he has other projects in the works — his adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird is currently on Broadway — but he did note, “I wish the show was on the air now.” Aaron, please self-publish this fanfiction!
