And you thought those Housewives were desperate! If there is any actress who you can trust to get to the bottom of the question of “why women kill,” it’s soon-to-be-former Elementary star Lucy Liu. According to TVLine, the Set It Up star has joined Marc Cherry’s homicidal dramedy Why Women Kill, currently headed to CBS All Access. The series reportedly follows “a housewife in the ’60s, a socialite in the ’80s and a lawyer in 2018,” all of whom presumably give a lot of thought to the whole “why women kill” question. Like, a criminal amount of thought.

As for Liu’s character specifically, she’ll be time traveling back to the 1980s as “elegant, stylish, effervescent” Simone, whose sparkling social life, blithe superiority complex, and seemingly picture-perfect marriage gets rocked to the core when she discovers her husband Karl has been cheating on her. Marc, don’t spoil why this woman kills right in the character description! Just kidding, as if knowing “why” mere seconds after learning about Lucy Liu’s casting would deter us from watching in the slightest. Plus, there’s always the how and the where!
