The new season of Killing Eve will take place 30 seconds after the end of season 1. Eve (Sandra Oh) has just stabbed Villanelle (Jodie Comer), and the second season will start with Villanelle’s flight and her vulnerability as she runs from Eve. “They crossed a line and there’s no going back. We have a lot of energy in the beginning of the series,” Oh said at the TCA presentation. “It pushes them to a different place of vulnerability.” It pushes Villanelle into different outfits, according to Variety, including “a very specific set of pajamas and an encounter with a pair of Crocs.” New showrunner Emerald Fennell noted that Villanelle fetishizes clothes: “We all know, as women, how powerful clothes can be as a weapon.” Fennell took over as season 2 showrunner from creator Phoebe Waller-Bridges before season 1 even aired. The two have been best friends for years, and Oh said the show “really moved from one hand to a similar hand.”
