Will Forte Shares a Sneak Peek of His MacGruber TV Series

Last week, Jorma Taccone dropped an exciting update on the long-in-the-works MacGruber sequel when he revealed that he, Will Forte, and John Solomon have been pitching a MacGruber television series to streaming networks in Los Angeles. “I’m really hoping that when you print this there’s an announcement that it’s actually happening, because I know nothing right now,” he told the Daily Beast at the time, later adding that the original cast of the film — including Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer, and Ryan Phillippe — are “so down” to return for the possible show.

While we’re waiting for the show to get picked up, Will Forte did us all a solid by offering a sneak peek of what the series would look like during his appearance on The Tonight Show last night. With some help from Jimmy Fallon as Kristen Wiig’s character Vicki, Forte acted out a quick scene to let fans see the “high-minded and complex direction that we’re taking the MacGruber character.” Because MacGruber is serious and important art, that direction obviously includes the phrase “ramming and rimming.” If this pitch doesn’t make some network out there jump to order MacGruber to series, we don’t know what will.
