The Trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8 Is Finally Here

Put your coffee down. Pause that meeting. Hang up on your mom. The first trailer for the final season of Game of Thrones officially arrived yesterday, and there are plenty of longing looks, battles by firelight, dragons, fields of bones, moments to savor of Cersei staring knowingly, and little looks at so many of your favorite characters.

The last time we saw our heroes and villains, a newly formed ice dragon was taking out the Wall, freeing the entire Army of the Dead to invade the southern lands. With the Wights on the move, Jon Snow and Daenerys have marshaled their forces to Winterfell, where they appear to still be making eyes with each other despite that awkward family connection. (Who’s going to tell them, guys?) Elsewhere, Cersei is surveying the kingdom she fought to reclaim rule of, which seems like a hollow victory when you consider almost everyone in her family besides Jamie is dead and all of her subjects stand to be wiped out by zombies. Yes, the Mountain is still by her side, but he doesn’t seem like much of talker. In happier news, Grey Worm and Missandei are still making it work and making out, and Gendry is looking sexy and strapping as ever by those blacksmith forges. Everyone better get their best looks in while they still can, because that battle at Winterfell — the one that took three months to shoot — looks damn serious, and there’s no way all our heroes are making it out alive.

Game of Thrones returns for its eighth and final season on April 14.
