Chernobyl remains the deadliest nuclear accident in history, but you’re small potatoes in today’s society without the prestige-drama treatment. HBO just released the first trailer for its six-part mini-series, Chernobyl. The show stars Jared Harris, Emily Watson, and Stellan Skarsgård. Skarsgård, as the deputy prime minister, tries to keep the horrors of Chernobyl under wraps, while nuclear physicists Harris and Watson try to make sense of the disaster. But as Harris says in the trailer, “There was nothing sane about Chernobyl.” The most upsetting parts of the trailer show the way a consoling human touch can spread radiation. This is important: If your loved one is dying from radiation poisoning, DO NOT TOUCH THEM! You are just going to make everything worse. Chernobyl comes to HBO May 6.
