Meghan McCain Is Fine, Totally Fine, So Fine, With SNL’s Impression of Her

The basic-cable hot mess known as The View pivoted to SNL earlier this month, where, among other things, Aidy Bryant donned a fabulous yellow-blonde wig to parody Meghan McCain as a racist princess of Arizona. (“There’s a crisis at the border and the border is right up in my Arizona, which was founded on sunburnt women selling turquoise jewelry,” McCain muses in the sketch. “Not random Mexicans.”) Well, The View is back from its li’l spring hiatus, and the ladies are insisting that the sketch was the thrill of a lifetime — perhaps none more so than McCain herself. “I worked at SNL as an intern in college. I used to get Lorne Michaels’s popcorn and beer,” she reminded the audience. “It’s a pop-culture honor to be parodied by them. Aidy Bryant and I went to high school together. It’s an honor all the way around and you nailed me, so there you go, I loved it.” You’re welcome!
