Maya Rudolph Provides You With a Drunk Serenade in the Wine Country Trailer

Last year, Netflix dropped the news that Amy Poehler had signed on to make her directorial debut in Wine Country, a comedy that reunited her with a bunch of her fellow Saturday Night Live superstars. The cast of the film is indeed incredibly stacked, featuring Poehler alongside Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, Cherry Jones, and Jason Schwartzman. Netflix released the first trailer for the film today, in which Poehler’s character Abby “plans a scenic Napa getaway with her best, longtime friends” to celebrate the 50th birthday of Dratch’s character, Rebecca.

“Yet as the alcohol flows,” the log line goes on, “real world uncertainties intrude on the punchlines and gossip, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures.” All you really need to know, though, is that Wine Country is a movie directed by Amy Poehler and includes lots of boozy goodness from some of the most talented women in comedy today, including Maya Rudolph drunkenly singing on, then falling off, a piano. Check out the trailer above, then watch the rest when Wine Country heads to Netflix and select theaters on Friday, May 10.
