Last year, HBO handed out a series order to a new comedy from Danny McBride called The Righteous Gemstones, and today we got our second teaser. Originally ordered to pilot last June, the show centers on “a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charitable work,” and McBride stars alongside John Goodman, Adam Devine, Edi Patterson, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Calvero, Tim Baltz, and Greg Alan Williams. McBride also serves as a director and executive producer on the show; frequent McBride collaborators Jody Hill and David Gordon Green are executive producers. The show debuts on HBO on August 18, so if you’ve been praying for more McBride on your TV screen, consider your prayers answered.
