Nicole Kidman Is the Emoji Queen of Big Little Lies’ Group Chat

Boys are banned in the group chat for Big Little Lies’ incredible sextet of women, a technological safe space where, we’re assuming, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman, and Meryl Streep gossip about Jeopardy! James and how bees are dying at an alarming rate. But what exactly does this fabled chat room look like from afar? Are there exclamation points galore, globe-trotting selfies, the elusive Bitmoji? “My lips are sealed; I’m going to the grave!” Kidman joked at a panel for the show at The Wing’s Soho location on Wednesday. “I think I’m the only one who sends Emojis. You send a couple, Reese.” (“I like a GIF!” Witherspoon squealed in clarification. Us too.) “It’s a fantastic way to quickly communicate,” Kidman earnestly added. “I’m still the one who says, ‘Can you talk?’ And then we get on the phone and we talk. I still deeply value the talking.” And we deeply value her candor.
