After Megan Rapinoe said she and the U.S. women’s soccer team would definitely not be “going to the fucking White House” if they won the women’s World Cup and Donald Trump lashed out at her on Twitter, it’s not so surprising the team’s World Cup win was not immediately followed by an engraved invitation to enjoy lunch at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Jimmy Kimmel didn’t want anyone to miss out on the now-classic athlete’s White House meal, so he did the only reasonable thing he could when Rapinoe and teammate Alex Morgan stopped by Thursday night: He gave them 5,000 chicken nuggets. If the whole team gets to work now, maybe they can eat them all by the time the next World Cup rolls around. And so the cycle begins anew.
