Sound the “James Wan is producing something” alarm, because the creepy puppet has lined up yet another project to oversee. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wan is developing an adaptation of Nick Cutter’s book The Troop with E.L. Katz lined up to direct (he previously helmed the brutal good time Cheap Thrills), and the script is being written by Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald. The Troop concerns a group of young Boy Scouts who are off with Scoutmaster Tim for their annual camping adventure. Tim takes them to an allegedly uninhabited island, where they find a strange starving man and welcome him into their camp. (Bad idea!) For some reason, irresponsible Scoutmaster Tim then decides this group of non-doctors should perform immediate exploratory surgery on the sick man, which unleashes a hellacious parasite and leads to a battle between the infected scouts and the healthy ones. This is going to get really ugly.
