2019 has claimed another one of Hollywood’s most intriguing celebrity couples, with Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth calling it quits after six months of marriage and over a decade of dating. (They got together when she was still Hannah Montana. How time flies!) Hemsworth has now confirmed that their separation is indeed real as opposed to a People “sources say” fever dream, with the actor asking on Instagram that we respect the couple’s privacy — and also saying we shouldn’t believe everything we read. “Hi all, just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and love.”
Cyrus, meanwhile, has not issued a statement about the divisive state of news media, but has rather been making out with Brody Jenner’s ex in Italy.
