The Crown Season 3 Trailer: Olivia Colman Contemplates the Literally Changing Face of England

The queen is gone, long live the queen. In a nod to the fact that this third season of The Crown stars a new Queen Elizabeth II, Netflix has released the first trailer where Olivia Colman, the new QE2, gazes upon a direct comparison between a stamp profile of herself and of Claire Foy’s portrayal of a younger version of the queen. “A great many changes,” the Oscar-winner says, “nothing one can do about it, one just has to get on with it.” So, The Crown will get on with it – despite the queen’s sudden change of eye color – covering the 1960s and 1970s from “Cold War paranoia through to the jet-set and the space age” with a new cast that includes Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as The Duke of Edinburgh, and Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles. The Crown’s third season premieres on Netflix on November 17.
