Late Night host Seth Meyers has another big gig lined up: starring in his first stand-up special for Netflix. The streaming network announced today that Meyers’s special, Lobby Baby, will premiere in just a little under two weeks on Tuesday, November 5. Filmed at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis, Lobby Baby covers “family, fatherhood, and why you should never take your girlfriend to Paris for her birthday,” plus Meyers’s wisdom that “you can love a lobby baby as much as a hospital baby … in time.” (For the uninitiated, Meyers’s wife gave birth to their second son in the lobby of their building.) To promote the special, Netflix released a clip that seems to have taken a hint from our recent complaints about stand-up special trailers; instead of flashing a bunch of random clips from Meyers’s set, it takes advantage of his sketch-comedy roots through a very silly commercial for a brand-new product called “Standup Seth.” Now with legs!
