Friday Night Lights Goes for Two: Acclaimed NBC drama Friday Night Lights, starring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, will return for a second season after finishing near the bottom of the ratings standings in its first year. TV writers cheer, bust out their “Hail Mary” lines. [Variety]

Cattrall, Radcliffe in Film: Finally, Kim Cattrall and Daniel Radcliffe will co-star in something besides Radcliffe’s cougary dreams. The pair will star in My Boy Jack, period drama about Rudyard Kipling’s family directed by Brian Kirk (The Tudors). [NYT]

Sonnenfeld in The Box?: Barry Sonnenfeld is in talks to direct The Box, action thriller with contemporary take on Pandora’s Box for 20th Century Fox. Script is by Evan Spiliotopoulos, previously known for Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, natch. [HR]

Wilson to Rock Out: Rainn Wilson signs to shoot Rocker this summer, directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty). Wilson stars as a Pete Best–like drummer who is given a second chance at rock stardom. [Variety]

Cardellini in Heaven: In today’s Freaks and Geeks alumni update, Linda Cardellini joins cast of Heaven Project, an indie about a convict sentenced to lethal injection who is told he’s been given a second chance by God. Paul Walker stars; John Glenn directs. [HR]

Feds Help Promote New Moore Doc: The U.S. Treasury Department is investigating Michael Moore for a trip he took to Cuba with ill 9/11 responders. Coincidentally, Moore’s movie, Sicko, comes out this summer. What a stroke of terrible luck for Michael Moore! [HR]
