Dillane Double-Bill Canceled: First two productions of the Bridge Project, collaboration between London’s Old Vic and BAM, are canceled because of illness in the family of Tempest and Hamlet star Steven Dillane. Project will pick up in 2009 with Winter’s Tale and The Cherry Orchard, both starring Simon Russell Beale and directed by Sam Mendes. [NYT]

BET Cleans Up Mess: Hot Ghetto Mess, the most inspiringly named upcoming TV show on the schedule, has been retitled by network BET to innocuous We Got to Do Better, which is a worse name by a factor of seventeen. In the face of continued controversy, show to be renamed Everything Is Basically Okay in Our Nation’s Inner Cities next week. [NYT]
