Seth Rogen Is … Green Hornet!: Yeah, that’s what we said. Seth Rogen will step into a superhero role flirted with by George Clooney and Jake Gyllenhaal, that of millionaire turned vigilante Brit Reid, a.k.a. the Green Hornet. We kind of hope that Rogen plans to make a comedy but just didn’t tell anyone at Columbia. “Ah, they’ll figure it out when they see the dailies,” we can imagine him saying. By the way, did you hear? Seth Rogen is different from Clark Gable. [Variety]

Vampires to Scott Free and Fox 2000: The Passage, first novel in pseudonymous vampire trilogy by literary novelist Justin Cronin, sells for film to Ridley Scott’s Scott Free and Fox 2000. We hear agent was pushing for an outright buy, though it’s not yet public whether they cashed in with film to the level of Cronin’s $3 million-plus book deal. [Variety]

Gavin Hood on Wolverine: Tsotsi director Gavin Hood will direct Hugh Jackman X-Men spinoff Wolverine, set to release summer 2008. Producers, impressed with his ability to make the most out of tiny budget on South African indie, theorized that if you throw a shitload of money at the guy, it stands to reason he’ll make an even better movie, right? Right? [Variety]

Sandino Moreno Joins Che Pics: Catalina Sandino Moreno joins the cast of both of Steven Soderbergh’s Che Guevara biopics, The Argentine and Guerilla. Benicio del Toro plays the man who revolutionized T-shirts forever. This item is too awesome to make fun of. [Variety]

Pelosi Memoir to Doubleday: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will write memoir for publisher Stephen Rubin (I-Doubleday), to be published in summer 2008. William Morris agents made the deal. [PW]

Lone Star Love to Broadway, Finally: Country musical Lone Star Love, subtitled “The Merry Wives of Windsor, Texas,” follows 2004 Off Broadway run with November Broadway bow. The Red Clay Ramblers musical will star Randy Quaid as Sir John Falstaff. We’re somewhat biased on this item, because we’ve wanted this show to make it to Broadway for years, because it is awesome.
