The Verdict: Hot on the heels of Allen’s whirlwind eulogizing tour for expired Swede Ingmar Bergman comes the trailer for his Cassandra’s Dream. Until today, very little was known about its plot and now, after watching the international trailer, we still have pretty much no idea what it’s about. In fact, we can’t even tell which of Allen’s classic films he’s cannibalizing here — probably Crimes and Misdemeanors again, but we’re not totally sure. Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell star as brothers who commit an illegal act, possibly murder. Tom Wilkinson is their dad. There’s a girl involved. Also, something about a boat. It looks more like Match Point than Scoop, though, so we’re cautiously optimistic.
