‘Quarterlife:’ Like ‘LonelyGirl15,’ Except Faker

The Tagline: “Why do we blog? We blog to exist.”

The Translation: Yep, this is probably going to be lame.

The Verdict: Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, the angst merchants behind My So-Called Life and thirtysomething are trying their hand at Internet TV, bringing scripted drama to a generation so sick of scripted drama that they’re actually entertained by that “Chocolate Rain” guy. Quarterlife will debut on MySpaceTV on November 11 (along with its own social network — edgy!) and will follow the travails of hapless vlogger Dylan Krieger who incurs the wrath of her roommates when they get upset, quite understandably, because she posts mean things about them on the Internet. Even Tay Zonday is laughing at this.
