MacLaine Wears Chanel: Shirley MacLaine will play Coco Chanel for a Lifetime miniseries currently under production. Barbora Bobulova will portray Chanel in her younger years in this decades-spanning mini, directed by Christian Duguay. And for all of those readers whose first thought is “Will they get the clothes right?,” rest assured that Karl Lagerfeld has given his approval, and Chanel’s clothes, to the project. [Variety]

Braff, Denman Go Dramatic: Zach Braff and David Denman (Pam’s onetime boyfriend on The Office) will star in a drama pilot for Fox written by Adam Braff, brother of Zach. Saint of Circumstance follows a man who leaves his dead-end office job to drive an ambulance and listen to the Shins. [HR]

MTV Hits the Mall: MTV will produce its own High School Musical–esque original tuner with The American Mall, a musical about “Ally, a singer-songwriter battling to save her mother’s music store and to keep the boy she loves, Joey, a musically gifted young janitor who fronts a garage band.” We’re so there, oh my God. Esposito Gets Hot: The cast of Broadway’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof just gets better and better, with Giancarlo Esposito as Brother Gooper joining already-announced Terrence Howard, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, and James Earl Jones. [Playbill]

Want to Watch Patriots-Giants?: Currently, you are still out of luck if you want to see the Pats go for the perfect season against the Giants and you live in one of the millions and millions of homes whose Time Warner cable boxes don’t receive the NFL Network. But NFL commissioner Roger Goodell proposed binding arbitration to Time Warner yesterday as a way of settling their years-old disagreement about the network. Separately, two senators are threatening the NFL’s antitrust exemption if the game does not become more widely available. We’re down at our in-laws’ house in D.C., so we get to watch the game, nyah nyah. [Variety]
