We found Frank Webster’s desolate postindustrial Americana — muted tones (for the most part), no people, nondescript city blocks, factories, and interstates — to be pretty appropriate for a day like today. Dead Tree seems to be just about as chilly as the rest of us, though the looming red in the distance (presumably a sunset) is a nice reminder of a pending spring. Webster’s solo show is up at the Bespoke Gallery through March 1. —Rachel WolffArtist Frank Webster Paints the Much-Fabled Ugly Tree
